If one great force can convince the other that there is no conflict, the battle is won.

In Tomorrow 2.0, the second of the COBRA trilogy, no one is safe. An UnHoly Trinity is evolving.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4263693262607881918.post-83435072562369591272009-08-26T21:13:00.000-07:002009-08-26T21:13:49.137-07:00Should Technology Trump Ethics? What happens when technology moves faster than our capacity to decide if it is right?

In Tomorrow 2.0, a new technology, perhaps only a few years away in real terms will be unleashed.

In Tomorrow's Paper, the first book in the trilogy, the brain/ computer diversion became blurred. Criminal behavior disappeared, filtered out by a computer chip held deep in the brain. No more depression, no more fear, no more unhappiness.

A valid question is "if the result is good, why not?".Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4263693262607881918.post-66186286499241541552009-08-24T19:06:00.000-07:002009-08-24T19:21:32.803-07:00Tomorrow 2.0The writing process for the sequel to Tomorrow's Paper has begun. The working title is Tomorrow 2.0.

A research trip to Hawaii was extremely profitable. You just have to be there to feel a place to be able to write scenes that happen there. There is something about the sounds, the humidity, the smells that can't be had via internet peeks.

The visit to Pearl Harbour was the key to a plot development. So much symbolism, history and future exist there. Nuclear submarines cruise past the memorial. The future and the past within metres of each other. All those battleships, lined up in a row to protect them from sabotage. A new technology ignored. An unseen enemy lurking both under the water and high above it.

I've plotted out a beginning, a middle and an end, but know that chapters, characters and plots have a way of going their own course.Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4263693262607881918.post-14221488163752437412009-06-18T17:56:00.000-07:002009-07-16T15:16:30.610-07:00Tomorrow's Paper Wins Award!I am very proud to announce that Tomorrow's Paper has been selected as Best Futuristic Novel by the Canadian Christian Writing Awards hosted by The Word Guild! It’s then she realizes her terror is
only beginning.
The brilliant, beautiful, and horridly twisted Dr. Xavier Lyon
personally supervises the extraction of Lisa’s brain for a purpose that
only future generations will fully comprehend. The secret corporation
Lyon heads is about to use portions of Lisa’s brain to create a
technology so universally therapeutic that no human will be able to
resist its power…or, at least, be left alive if they choose to resist.
But not all are fooled by the lure of C.O.B.R.A. (COmputer
BRAin Interface). Jerry, an emotionally frail computer genius who
is troubled by the ethics involved, teams up with financial consultant
Edward Calais and his wife, Jane, an astute lawyer, to combat
the unholy unfolding. But will they—and Lisa—be able to stop
C.O.B.R.A. before it becomes a reality in tomorrow’s paper?
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com
